At university, the academic demands are often much higher; preparing for lectures, practices and studying for exams can all increase stress and anxiety.

What's more, not only do the demands increase, but we find ourselves in a completely new environment and system. The high school classmates with whom we have spent many years together often go their separate ways, and we may also experience distance from family for the first time. We also have to manage a range of tasks on our own, such as studying, finances, work, relationships and maintaining a social life balance - all of which we receive little prior guidance on.

As a former university student, who changed studies, university student counsellor and lecturer, I know the challenges and difficulties of university students' lives well and am happy to help them on their journey.
